Description
Gloss Finish Wax for Terracotta, Natural Stone and Cement Agglomerates – IDROFIN LUCIDO
IDROFIN LUCIDO is a gloss finish wax for terracotta and other absorbent stone surfaces used indoors. It completes protective treatments and helps preserve their performance over time. The product is suitable for terracotta, absorbent natural stone and cement agglomerates. It creates a thin resin-wax micro-layer that protects the underlying treatment. As a result, dirt penetrates less easily, cleaning becomes faster and the material keeps its appearance and breathability.
When to Use It
Apply IDROFIN LUCIDO as the final step after treating indoor floors and wall surfaces made of absorbent stone materials. It performs best after water- and oil-repellent sealers, oil-wax impregnating treatments and levelling primers. This final finish protects the treatment for longer while enhancing the original appearance of the surface.
What It Does
IDROFIN LUCIDO works as a gloss protective wax for indoor floors. It forms a uniform resin-wax micro-layer that limits dirt penetration and helps protect the underlying treatment from wear. At the same time, it enhances the natural look of the surface without creating a thick film. Moreover, it allows good vapour permeability and makes routine cleaning easier.
How It Works
The water-based formula spreads evenly across the treated surface. It creates a thin yet durable protective layer. Consequently, dirt adheres less easily and routine maintenance takes less time. In addition, the treatment lasts longer while the original appearance of the material remains unchanged.
Economic Benefits
IDROFIN LUCIDO protects the underlying treatment from wear and ageing. Therefore, it helps extend the service life of the treatment and reduces the need for restoration work. Because dirt adheres less easily, routine cleaning also becomes quicker and more efficient.
Recommended Applications
Use IDROFIN LUCIDO as a gloss finish wax for terracotta, absorbent natural stone and cement agglomerates installed indoors. You can also apply it to brick, concrete and absorbent mineral plasters. It completes the treatment system with a durable protective gloss finish.
Durability
Routine maintenance helps preserve the protective finish created by IDROFIN LUCIDO. As a result, the underlying treatment lasts longer and the surface keeps its original appearance over time.
Technical Limitations
- Use IDROFIN LUCIDO only on indoor surfaces.
- Do not apply it outdoors, on surfaces below 5 °C (41 °F), or with a brush or roller.
- To preserve the finish, avoid strongly alkaline cleaners, acidic products and solvents.
How to use
IDROFIN LUCIDO is normally used undiluted and should be applied to clean, completely dry surfaces. Before use, shake the container well to ensure the gloss finishing wax is evenly mixed and easy to apply.
- Pour a small amount of product directly onto the surface.
- Spread it evenly using a soft microfiber cloth or a wax applicator fleece, avoiding excess product.
- Allow the surface to dry completely without walking on it during the drying process.
- If necessary, apply a second coat once the first coat is completely dry.
- To increase the gloss level or remove light traffic marks, polish the surface with a wool cloth, a polishing machine fitted with felt pads, red buffer pads or a single-disc machine fitted with red floor discs.
The product normally dries within 2–3 hours.
Application
- 1 coat on smooth, low-absorbency surfaces.
- 2 coats on rough or highly absorbent surfaces.
Coverage
The coverage of IDROFIN LUCIDO depends on the absorbency and surface texture of the material. One 1 L bottle typically covers:
- 10–18 m² on rough, highly absorbent surfaces, such as rustic terracotta and other porous materials.
- 20–30 m² on smooth, low-absorbency surfaces, such as honed terracotta, dense natural stone and similar materials.
Coverage rates are approximate and may vary depending on the absorbency, surface finish and the amount of product required to achieve an even application.

What Is IDROFIN LUCIDO Used For?
IDROFIN LUCIDO is a gloss finish wax for terracotta, absorbent natural stone and cement agglomerates used indoors. It completes the protective treatment, shields the underlying treatment from wear and ageing, and creates a resin-wax micro-layer that reduces dirt penetration and makes routine cleaning easier.
Which Surfaces Can It Be Applied To?
It is suitable for indoor surfaces made of terracotta, brick, highly absorbent natural stone, cement agglomerates, concrete and absorbent mineral plasters that have already received a protective treatment.
When Should It Be Applied?
Apply IDROFIN LUCIDO as the final finishing coat after water- and oil-repellent sealers, oil-wax impregnating treatments or levelling primers. This helps protect the treatment for longer while preserving the gloss finish and the original appearance of the surface.
Does IDROFIN LUCIDO Change the Appearance of the Surface?
No. It enhances the surface with a gloss finish without creating a thick surface film. In addition, it maintains good vapour permeability while helping preserve the material’s natural appearance.
Can It Be Used Outdoors?
No. IDROFIN LUCIDO is intended exclusively for indoor surfaces and is not suitable for areas exposed to weather. For exterior protective treatments, use PAV05.
How Many Coats Should I Apply?
One coat is generally sufficient on smooth, low-absorbency surfaces. Apply two coats on rough or highly absorbent surfaces.
How Long Does It Take to Dry?
IDROFIN LUCIDO normally dries within 2–3 hours. If a second coat is required, apply it only after the first coat has dried completely.
How Often Should It Be Reapplied?
IDROFIN LUCIDO is normally applied only once as the finishing coat. Afterwards, maintain the protective finish and gloss with regular applications of REFIX LUCIDO.
What Is the Difference Between IDROFIN LUCIDO and POLIFIN?
Both products protect treated surfaces. However, POLIFIN provides a higher-gloss metallised finish. IDROFIN LUCIDO, instead, is a water-based gloss finish wax that completes and protects treatments on indoor absorbent stone surfaces.
Does It Make Surfaces Easier to Clean?
Yes. The resin-wax micro-layer created by IDROFIN LUCIDO helps prevent dirt from penetrating the surface. As a result, routine cleaning becomes quicker and easier.
