Description
Matt Maintenance Wax for Terracotta, Natural Stone and Cement-Based Agglomerates – REFIX MATT
REFIX MATT is a matt maintenance wax for terracotta, natural stone and absorbent cement-based agglomerates for indoor use. It is suitable for surfaces that already have a protective treatment. Regular use helps maintain wax-treated surfaces and preserve the protective and aesthetic properties of the original matt finish. It also renews surface protection in areas affected by normal wear.
When to use it
Use REFIX MATT for the maintenance of treated terracotta floors, absorbent natural stone and cement-based agglomerates with a matt finish. The product is suitable for indoor surfaces with an existing finishing emulsion, such as those from the IDROFIN range. Apply it periodically to renew surface protection and maintain the matt appearance of the existing treatment.
What it does
This matt maintenance wax helps preserve the protective and aesthetic properties of the original finish over time. It renews the surface protection and makes routine cleaning and maintenance easier. Moreover, it does not create glossy films or layers. As a result, the surface retains its matt appearance.
How it works
REFIX MATT has a water-based formula containing vegetable waxes, mineral waxes and resins. The formula spreads evenly over the treated surface. Its self-levelling properties also make application easier. Therefore, the product can evenly renew the protection of the matt finish without creating glossy films.
Periodic maintenance
REFIX MATT is specifically designed to maintain an existing matt finish. Regular use helps renew surface protection in areas affected by normal foot traffic. It also makes the surface easier to clean over time. However, REFIX MATT does not replace the finishing wax used for the original treatment.
Specific uses
Use REFIX MATT on absorbent indoor surfaces made of terracotta, natural stone and cement-based agglomerates with an existing matt finish. The water-based formula is easy to use and is not classified as hazardous. In addition, the product leaves a pleasant scent in the room. It also helps simplify routine surface cleaning.
Maintenance frequency
The maintenance frequency with REFIX MATT depends on foot traffic and surface wear. Apply it every 4–6 months in heavily used areas. These include shops, public premises, bars, restaurants, kitchens, entrances and bathrooms. For areas with low foot traffic, such as bedrooms and living rooms, apply it approximately every 12 months.
Technical limitations
Use REFIX MATT exclusively for the maintenance of previously treated, absorbent stone-based materials indoors. When cleaning these surfaces, avoid strongly alkaline cleaners, ammonia-based cleaners and solvents. This helps preserve the existing finish.
How to use
REFIX MATT should be applied to clean and completely dry surfaces. Before use, shake the product well to help distribute the maintenance wax evenly.
- Apply the product in small amounts to the surface that requires maintenance.
- Spread it evenly using a soft cloth or a wax applicator.
- Allow the product to dry and do not walk on the surface during the drying process.
The product has an approximate drying time of 30–60 minutes and reaches full consolidation in about 2 hours.
Maintenance frequency
How often you should apply REFIX MATT depends on foot traffic and surface wear:
- Every 4–6 months on heavily used surfaces exposed to greater wear, such as shops, public premises, bars, restaurants, kitchens, entrances and bathrooms.
- Every 12 months on surfaces with low foot traffic, such as bedrooms and living rooms.
Approximate coverage
With 1 litre of REFIX MATT, you can maintain approximately 30–40 m² of surface. The actual coverage may vary depending on the surface finish of the material.

What is REFIX MATT used for?
REFIX MATT is a matt maintenance wax for previously treated, absorbent terracotta, natural stone and cement-based agglomerates. It renews surface protection affected by normal wear. In addition, it helps preserve the protective and aesthetic properties of the original matt finish over time.
Why should I use REFIX MATT on wax-treated floors?
Normal use and foot traffic can gradually wear down the surface protection of an existing treatment. REFIX MATT periodically renews this protection while maintaining the matt appearance of the finish. It also makes surfaces easier to clean and maintain.
What is the difference between REFIX MATT and IDROFIN MATT?
IDROFIN MATT is a matt finishing wax used to complete the initial surface treatment, while REFIX MATT is a matt maintenance wax for previously treated surfaces. Therefore, REFIX MATT is used periodically to renew surface protection and preserve the existing matt finish over time.
Which surfaces can I use REFIX MATT on?
REFIX MATT is suitable for previously treated, absorbent stone-based materials indoors, including terracotta, natural stone and cement-based agglomerates with a matt finish.
Does REFIX MATT make floors glossy?
No. REFIX MATT is specifically designed to maintain matt finishes. It does not create glossy films or layers, so it preserves the appearance of the original finish.
How often should I apply REFIX MATT?
The application frequency depends on foot traffic and surface wear. Apply REFIX MATT every 4–6 months in heavily used areas, such as shops, public premises, bars, restaurants, kitchens, entrances and bathrooms. In areas with low foot traffic, such as bedrooms and living rooms, apply it approximately every 12 months.
How do I apply REFIX MATT?
Shake the product before use, then apply a small amount to a clean, dry surface. Spread it evenly with a soft cloth or wax applicator. Do not walk on the surface while the product is drying.
How long does REFIX MATT take to dry?
REFIX MATT has an approximate drying time of 30–60 minutes and reaches full consolidation in about 2 hours. Avoid walking on the surface during this period.
Does REFIX MATT make floors easier to clean?
Yes. Periodic maintenance with REFIX MATT renews the surface protection of the existing treatment. As a result, surfaces remain easier to clean and maintain over time.
How much REFIX MATT do I need?
Coverage varies according to the surface finish of the material. As a guide, 1 litre of REFIX MATT can maintain approximately 30–40 m² of surface.
Which cleaners should I avoid after applying REFIX MATT?
When cleaning surfaces maintained with REFIX MATT, avoid strongly alkaline cleaners, ammonia-based cleaners and solvents.
