Maintenance Wax for Oiled Wood Floors and Parquet – BIOCARE
BIOCARE is a water-based maintenance wax specifically developed for oiled parquet, oiled wood floors and all interior wood surfaces finished with oil. It refreshes the surface protection of the original oil treatment while helping preserve the natural appearance and protective properties of the finish over time. Regular maintenance is essential for oiled wood floors, as it keeps the surface protected and makes everyday cleaning easier without altering the original finish. BIOCARE helps maintain a clean, well-protected surface without creating glossy films or surface build-up.
When to use BIOCARE®
BIOCARE is recommended for the routine maintenance of oiled parquet and interior oiled wood surfaces. Use it whenever the surface needs renewed protection, improved resistance to everyday wear and easier ongoing maintenance.
What it does
BIOCARE refreshes the surface protection of oiled wood finishes, helping preserve both their appearance and protective performance for longer. It makes treated surfaces easier to clean and maintain, does not leave glossy films or surface build-up, and leaves a pleasant fresh scent. Once dry, the surface can be dry polished to enhance and maintain its natural sheen.
How it works
Its water-based formula, enriched with waxes and resins, spreads evenly thanks to its self-levelling properties. Applied to clean, dry wood, BIOCARE renews the surface protection of the oil finish without forming an additional coating. After drying, the surface can be dry polished to enhance and maintain its natural lustre.

Regular maintenance with BIOCARE helps extend the life of oiled wood finishes while making surfaces easier to clean and care for. The same product is suitable for a wide range of interior oiled wood surfaces, including parquet flooring, timber floors, wall panelling, doors, windows and wooden furniture.
Maintenance schedule
The frequency of application depends on how intensively the surface is used. Apply BIOCARE every 4–6 months in high-traffic areas such as entrances, kitchens, shops and commercial premises. In low-traffic areas, such as bedrooms and private living spaces, application every 12 months is generally sufficient.
Technical limitations
- Suitable only for interior wood surfaces treated with oil.
- Do not apply to varnished or lacquered wood surfaces.
- Avoid using highly alcohol-based cleaners on treated surfaces.
How to use
BIOCARE should be applied only to clean, completely dry surfaces to ensure even coverage and effectively refresh the surface protection of the oil finish.
- Shake well before use.
- Apply a small amount of BIOCARE evenly using a soft microfibre cloth or a wax applicator pad.
- Allow the product to dry completely and avoid walking on the surface during the drying process.
- Once dry, polish the surface with a wool cloth, a floor polishing machine fitted with polishing pads, a BLUE BUFFER PAD or a single-disc floor machine fitted with a BLUE DISC to enhance and maintain the natural sheen or reduce visible signs of foot traffic.
Under normal conditions, BIOCARE dries in approximately 1–2 hours.
Maintenance schedule
The recommended application frequency depends on the level of foot traffic:
- Every 4–6 months on heavily used surfaces such as shops, public buildings, cafés, restaurants, kitchens, entrances and bathrooms.
- Every 12 months on low-traffic areas such as bedrooms and other private living spaces.
Coverage
Coverage may vary depending on the wood’s absorbency, the condition of the surface and the amount of product applied.
- On low-absorbency surfaces or floors that receive regular maintenance, 1 litre covers approximately 35–40 m².
- On more absorbent surfaces or floors requiring a higher product application, the approximate coverage is 30–35 m² per litre.

How should floors treated with BIOCARE be cleaned?
To help preserve the protective finish for longer, clean the surface regularly with PULIBRILL®, the specialist cleaner for parquet and treated wood surfaces.
Is BIOCARE enough if the wood quickly absorbs water or stains?
No. If the wood absorbs water or liquids easily, the original protective treatment has most likely worn away. In this case, the protective oil finish should be restored using the appropriate restoration products before resuming routine maintenance with BIOCARE.
Will BIOCARE make my parquet floor shinier?
BIOCARE does not create a glossy surface film. Once dry, it can be dry polished to enhance and maintain the wood’s natural sheen without changing its original appearance.
Can BIOCARE be used on varnished parquet?
No. BIOCARE is specifically formulated for oil-treated wood surfaces. For glossy varnished parquet, use LIGNOLIFE®.
What is the difference between BIOCARE and BIOTOP?
BIOTOP is a protective finishing wax used to create or restore the protective treatment of oil-treated wood. BIOCARE is a maintenance wax designed for regular use to refresh the surface protection and help keep it effective over time.
