The terrazzo floor, also known as Venetian terrazzo, is one of the most elegant and refined traditional Italian surfaces. Over time, however, foot traffic, old wax treatments, and accumulated dirt can dull its natural shine.
In this project, the artisan company PIPPOLO, operating since 1991 in the Tuscany–Emilia region and specialized in stone surface treatments, carried out a complete cleaning, protection, and finishing treatment using professional MARBEC products to restore the terrazzo floor’s original beauty.

Deep cleaning of the terrazzo floor with SGRISER and red pad
The first step involved a deep decerating and degreasing cleaning of the terrazzo floor using SGRISER in combination with a red disc.
This phase was essential to remove old oil- and wax-based treatments, as well as greasy residues and biological incrustations that had made the surface dull and uneven.
SGRISER is a strong decerating detergent ideal for terracotta, stone, marble, cement, and terrazzo materials — therefore perfect for the terrazzo floor.
Its main features:
- Effectively removes old oil and wax layers;
- Deeply cleans and degreases even delicate surfaces;
- Leaves no harmful residues or unpleasant odors;
- Helps remove dark stains and biological deposits.
After cleaning, the floor was rinsed thoroughly and left to dry, ready for the protective treatment.

Hydrophobic and stain-resistant protection with TON PLUS
Once dry, TON PLUS was applied to the terrazzo floor as a hydrophobic and stain-resistant protector with a natural wet effect.
This water-based product forms a breathable chemical barrier that prevents the absorption of water, oils, and other liquids while preserving the material’s natural appearance.
TON PLUS offers several advantages for terrazzo floors:
- Enhances color depth with a long-lasting wet effect;
- No surface film formation;
- Excellent resistance to wear and weathering;
- Strong hydrophobic and anti-stain properties;
- Reduces the risk of salt efflorescence and biological growth.
After application, the terrazzo floor appeared uniform, clean, and naturally vibrant.

Brilliant finish of the terrazzo floor with POLIFIN
To complete the treatment, the PIPPOLO team applied POLIFIN, a high-gloss metallized self-polishing wax suitable for stone, marble, and terrazzo materials.
On a terrazzo floor, POLIFIN provides lasting brilliance, protection, and resistance to foot traffic, thereby giving the surface an elegant and refined look. Moreover, its self-polishing formula ensures a uniform finish that enhances the natural tones of the material.
In fact, this finishing product forms a thin yet durable protective layer that not only enhances shine but also facilitates ordinary maintenance. As a result, the terrazzo floor remains beautiful and easy to care for over time. Consequently, the surface retains both its aesthetic value and functional durability for many years.
Final result
Thanks to the expertise of PIPPOLO and the effectiveness of MARBEC products — SGRISER, TON PLUS, and POLIFIN — the terrazzo floor has regained its original luminosity, depth of color, and long-term protection. Moreover, the treatment ensured that the surface remained naturally breathable and easy to maintain over time.
As a result, the floor now combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, therefore restoring both the timeless beauty and the durability of this historic flooring. In addition, the harmonious balance between performance and aesthetics makes the terrazzo floor shine again, ready to be enjoyed for years to come.

Parquet flooring is one of the most popular choices in modern homes. It looks elegant, feels warm underfoot and enhances any room. However, to keep it beautiful over time, you need to know how to clean parquet flooring and how to wash a parquet floor without damaging it. For this reason, it is important to choose the right method and the right product for each finish. In fact, varnished parquet needs different care from oiled or waxed parquet. In this complete guide, you will discover which mistakes to avoid and which products to use to keep wood clean, protected and attractive for longer.
Can an oak parquet floor stained by moisture and construction residue be restored without sanding? That was the challenge faced by EASY PARKET by Francesco Ghelardi during this project in Prato, Tuscany, Italy. The floor, installed throughout the bedrooms and hallway of a private home, showed dark stains caused by moisture trapped under a nylon covering during masonry work, together with typical post-construction dirt and residue. Thanks to a technical and conservative approach, the surface was restored without sanding. This choice preserved the original micro-bevel of the parquet and brought back the natural beauty of the wood.
