Degreasing Cleaner for Matt Porcelain Tile – GRES LINDO®

GRES LINDO® is a degreasing cleaner for matt porcelain tile specifically formulated to remove greasy films, streaks and light footprints without leaving residues behind. In addition, it works as a cleaner for matt porcelain stoneware floors designed for both routine and intensive cleaning of domestic surfaces, especially kitchens and areas exposed to greasy contamination. Thanks to its technical formula, GRES LINDO® is also an effective matt porcelain tile cleaning product when floors constantly look dirty, dull or uneven.

Why Matt Porcelain Stoneware Gets Dirty Easily

Porcelain stoneware is a durable material widely used in residential spaces. However, over time, surfaces can lose their uniform appearance. Floors may look uneven, become dirty more quickly and show light streaks or footprints even after washing. In most cases, this issue is linked to the build-up of greasy surface films.

The problem is especially common on matt porcelain tile floors because, despite their compact structure, the surface contains microscopic pores and micro-porosity. As a result, greasy particles from everyday domestic environments gradually settle into the surface. Over time, this build-up can create uneven semi-gloss films that alter the original appearance of the material and increase the visibility of stains and marks.

Main Causes of Greasy Films on Porcelain Stoneware

The most common causes of greasy contamination on porcelain stoneware include:

  • unsuitable detergents, such as scented all-purpose cleaners and polishing products;
  • kitchen fumes rich in oily micro-particles;
  • indoor air pollution, including fine dust and airborne particles;
  • contact with bare feet and pets, which release natural oils and sebum.

In particular, one of the most common causes is the use of standard supermarket cleaners. These products are often designed to leave surfaces shiny and scented. However, they may contain low-quality surfactants and film-forming substances that gradually settle on the floor. Consequently, greasy films build up over time. For this reason, using a porcelain stoneware degreaser that does not leave residues is essential.

Why Kitchens Are the Most Critical Area

Kitchen fumes also play a major role. During cooking, greasy vapours develop and are not always completely removed by extractor hoods. As a result, oily particles slowly settle onto the floor surface. Therefore, kitchens are among the most difficult environments to keep clean when matt or textured porcelain stoneware is installed.

Once contamination builds up, the surface can become stained even with plain water. Wet shoes, damp cloths or bare feet may then leave visible light marks and irregular streaks.

The Solution: A Specific Degreaser for Porcelain Stoneware

In these situations, you need a specific degreaser for porcelain tiles capable of cleaning and degreasing without creating surface films. Thanks to its advanced formula, GRES LINDO® is a concentrated sanitizing cleaner designed for both routine and intensive cleaning of porcelain stoneware and ceramic surfaces. In addition, it works progressively and helps prevent new greasy contamination over time.

Recommended Uses

GRES LINDO® is ideal for routine and periodic cleaning of:

  • floors and wall coverings in matt, satin or textured porcelain stoneware;
  • ceramic surfaces and microporous materials;
  • floors affected by semi-gloss films, streaks and light footprints;
  • kitchens and domestic areas exposed to greasy vapours and heavy foot traffic.

It is especially useful when routine cleaning no longer restores a uniform appearance or when the surface easily marks with water and humidity. In these situations, GRES LINDO® proves to be a reliable matt porcelain stoneware cleaner for long-term maintenance.

What It Does

GRES LINDO® is a sanitizing degreasing cleaner for porcelain stoneware that:

  • effectively cleans and degreases the surface;
  • gradually removes greasy films and contaminating residues;
  • eliminates dirt trapped inside the micropores of matt porcelain stoneware;
  • helps prevent semi-gloss films and streak formation;
  • does not leave soap or surfactant residues;
  • dries quickly without rinsing during routine cleaning;
  • helps keep grout lines cleaner over time.

How It Works

The formula of GRES LINDO® is based on inorganic salts with an extremely low surfactant content. As a result, it provides effective cleaning performance without creating surface build-up. The product dissolves and removes greasy contamination trapped in the micropores and, when diluted correctly, dries quickly without leaving streaks behind.

Cost-Effective Advantage

GRES LINDO® is a concentrated cleaner. Therefore, it can be used at very low dilutions, allowing many cleaning cycles with just one bottle.

Long-Lasting Results

Regular use of GRES LINDO® keeps porcelain stoneware cleaner and more uniform over time while reducing greasy films, streaks and visible footprints.

Technician’s Advice

If your home has hard water, it is recommended to combine routine maintenance with GRES BRILL®, specifically formulated to reduce limescale films caused by washing.
Using it 1–2 times per month helps limit mineral deposits on the surface, prevents streaks and dullness and keeps porcelain stoneware more uniform and easier to clean.

If the floor appears heavily streaked, dull or difficult to maintain, layered films caused by improper post-installation cleaning or film-forming residues may be present. In these situations, a deep recovery wash with POWER DET® is recommended before resuming routine maintenance with GRES BRILL®.

Technical Limits

GRES LINDO® does not contain strong alkalis and features low foaming action.
In the presence of persistent contamination, an intensive cleaning treatment with POWER DET® + BLUE BUFFER PAD is required.

Useful Resources for Using GRES LINDO Correctly

GRES LINDO is a specific cleaner for the routine and periodic cleaning of porcelain tile, ideal for keeping surfaces clean, uniform and streak-free over time. It is especially suitable when floors get dirty easily, appear dull after washing or accumulate dirt due to daily foot traffic.

To achieve consistent results and avoid issues such as streaks, detergent films or dirt build-up inside the microporous structure of the material, it is important to understand when to use a routine maintenance cleaner, how to dilute it correctly and which mistakes to avoid during daily cleaning.

How to use

GRES LINDO® is a concentrated cleaner for porcelain tile and should preferably be diluted in water.
Depending on the dilution ratio and cleaning method, it can be used for:

  • routine degreasing maintenance cleaning
  • intensive cleaning to remove domestic greasy films and light contamination

Routine Degreasing Cleaning (Maintenance)

When to Use It

Routine cleaning is recommended to:

  • keep already clean-looking surfaces consistently clean;
  • prevent greasy films and residue build-up;
  • reduce streaks, light footprints and traffic marks;
  • clean matt, satin or textured porcelain stoneware floors.
  • Recommended Dilution

20–50 cc of GRES LINDO® in 5 litres of water
(approximately half to one espresso cup)

Application Procedure

  1. Apply the solution like a standard floor cleaner.
  2. Clean using a well-wrung microfiber cloth or mop.
  3. Rinsing is not required.
  4. If residues or streaks remain, increase the dilution.

When to Use It

Intensive cleaning is recommended when porcelain tile shows:

  • domestic greasy films (kitchen residues, unsuitable detergents);
  • persistent streaks and light footprints;
  • dirt trapped inside the micropores of matt porcelain stoneware;
  • light limescale films caused by hard household water.

Recommended Dilution

170–250 cc of GRES LINDO® in 5 litres of water
(approximately 1 glass in a 5 L bucket)

Application Procedure

During application, protective gloves are recommended.

  1. Apply the solution generously across the surface.
  2. Work on small areas at a time.
  3. Leave the product to act for 4–5 minutes, avoiding drying.
  4. Scrub with a rough sponge or MELAMINE BUFFER PAD.
  5. Remove dirt and residues using microfiber cloths.
  6. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  7. Repeat the treatment if necessary.

What Is GRES LINDO® Used For?

GRES LINDO® is a concentrated cleaner specifically developed for the routine and periodic cleaning of porcelain tile. It helps keep surfaces clean, uniform and well maintained over time. In addition, it removes domestic dirt and greasy contamination without leaving residues behind, while also helping keep grout lines cleaner.

Why Use GRES LINDO® on Porcelain Stoneware?

During routine porcelain tile cleaning, one of the most common issues is the build-up of greasy surface films caused by foot traffic, domestic dirt, kitchen fumes and unsuitable detergents.

Many standard supermarket cleaners are formulated to leave surfaces shiny and scented. However, they often contain low-quality surfactants, fragrances and film-forming substances that gradually settle onto the floor surface. Consequently, over time, these residues create a film that can become stained even with plain water.

Thanks to its extremely low surfactant content, GRES LINDO® cleans and degreases effectively without contaminating the surface or creating residual films.

How Often Should GRES LINDO® Be Used?

The recommended frequency mainly depends on the surface finish and the hardness of the water.

On Polished Porcelain Tile

The most common issue is the formation of superficial limescale films. In these cases, maintenance should mainly be carried out using GRES BRILL®, alternating it with GRES LINDO®:

  • 10 washes with GRES BRILL® + 1 wash with GRES LINDO®

On Matt Porcelain Tile

The main issue is the greasy film that accumulates inside the micropores of the surface. In this case, the following routine is recommended:

  • in areas with very hard water: 5 washes with GRES LINDO® + 1 wash with GRES BRILL®.
  • in areas with moderately hard water: 10 washes with GRES LINDO® + 1 wash with GRES BRILL®.

This combination helps reduce greasy build-up as well as limescale deposits.

Is Intensive Cleaning with GRES LINDO® Useful?

Yes. Every 6–12 months, or whenever necessary, it is recommended to perform an intensive cleaning treatment using GRES LINDO® at a higher concentration, combined with MELAMINE BUFFER PAD, to remove domestic films such as grease and light limescale deposits that may reform over time.

This treatment is also recommended before reapplying the protective treatment ANTISPORCO.

However, GRES LINDO® is not suitable for post-installation cleaning or extremely heavy contamination. In these cases, you should use POWER DET® + BLUE PAD.

Does GRES LINDO® Require Rinsing?

No. When used for routine cleaning, rinsing is not necessary.

Dilutions are indicative and can be adjusted depending on water hardness and surface conditions.

Can GRES LINDO® Be Used with Floor Cleaning Machines or Scrubber Dryers?

Yes. GRES LINDO® can be used with domestic floor cleaning machines thanks to its low-foaming formula.

However, for continuous use with floor-cleaning machines and robotic floor cleaners, Marbec also offers dedicated products such as ROBOGRES®.

Can GRES LINDO® Be Used with Steam Mops?

Yes, it can also be used together with steam cleaning systems. However, it is important to respect the recommended dilutions and avoid excessive product use.

Can GRES LINDO® Remove Stains and Streaks from Heavily Marked Porcelain Tile?

If the floor is heavily stained or streaked, the issue is often caused by:

  • incorrect or incomplete post-installation cleaning;
  • the use of film-forming detergents;
  • persistent contamination such as waxes, technical residues or layered dirt.

In these situations, before using GRES LINDO® or GRES BRILL®, it is recommended to carry out a recovery cleaning treatment using:

  • POWER DET® diluted 1:1 (50% in water)
  • BLUE BUFFER PAD

Only after this intensive decontamination process should routine maintenance with GRES LINDO® be resumed.

Can You Make Porcelain Tile Floors Glossy?

No. Porcelain tile can only remain glossy if it was originally manufactured with a polished finish. Matt or wood-effect porcelain tile cannot become glossy through detergents or waxes.

In addition, applying waxes or resins to porcelain stoneware is not recommended because they create a superficial layer that deteriorates with foot traffic and detergents. Over time, this worsens the appearance of the floor and makes aggressive intensive cleaning treatments necessary.
