Outdoor awnings exposed to smog, rain, dust and humidity gradually lose their original appearance. Over time, mould, stains and atmospheric residues can make the fabric look dull and harder to maintain. Emilia&Pippo, a company specialised in deep and professional cleaning services, restored a polyester awning using PULISCI TENDE, a specific stain-removing cleaner for outdoor fabrics. In this article, we explain the cleaning process used to remove atmospheric dirt, dullness and biological residues from the awning surface.
Key points of the article
- Polyester awnings can accumulate smog, mould, dust and outdoor residues over time.
- Regular cleaning helps keep outdoor fabrics cleaner, more uniform and easier to maintain.
- Emilia&Pippo professionally cleaned a polyester awning using PULISCI TENDE.
- The treatment removed atmospheric dirt, biological contamination and dull areas from the fabric.
- The correct combination of cleaner, mechanical action and rinsing helped restore the awning’s original appearance.
Polyester awnings
Polyester awnings are appreciated for their durability, practicality and resistance to outdoor exposure. This material handles sunlight, rain and humidity well, helping the awning maintain its shape and colour over time.
In addition, polyester is lightweight and easy to handle during installation and maintenance. Thanks to the wide range of colours and designs available, these awnings adapt easily to terraces, gardens, verandas and outdoor living areas.
However, even outdoor fabrics can gradually accumulate atmospheric dirt, dust, mould and organic residues. As a result, the surface may start to look dull and uneven.
For this reason, regular maintenance helps keep the awning cleaner, visually more attractive and easier to manage over time.
The awning cleaning process
During this project, Emilia&Pippo cleaned a polyester awning using PULISCI TENDE, a stain-removing cleaner designed specifically for outdoor fabrics.
The treatment removed atmospheric dirt, dust, biological residues and dull areas from the fabric while preserving the integrity of the fibres.
Applying the outdoor fabric cleaner
PULISCI TENDE was sprayed evenly across the awning surface to ensure complete coverage of the fabric.
After application, the product was left to act for a few minutes. This step helped loosen dirt, smog residues and atmospheric contamination from the textile surface.

Cleaning the fabric with a white pad
To improve the cleaning action, Emilia&Pippo treated the fabric with a WHITE PAD. The mechanical action helped remove stubborn dirt, stains and residues trapped within the fibres.
This step becomes especially important when the awning shows darker areas caused by smog, humidity or long-term outdoor exposure.
Final rinsing and drying
After cleaning the fabric, the awning was rinsed with a pressure washer to remove detergent residues and loosened dirt completely.
Finally, the surface was left to dry naturally. This helped preserve the fabric while improving the uniformity of the final result.

Final cleaning result
Thanks to the use of PULISCI TENDE and the experience of Emilia&Pippo, the polyester awning regained a cleaner, brighter and more even appearance.
Removing atmospheric dirt, dullness and biological residues improved the overall appearance of the fabric without damaging the fibres. In addition, regular maintenance helps preserve the aesthetic quality of the awning for longer.

The importance of professional cleaning and the right products
Using the right products is important. However, the final result also depends on the cleaning method and the experience of the professional carrying out the work.
Every fabric reacts differently depending on the level of dirt, outdoor exposure and the overall condition of the surface.
Therefore, when dealing with heavily soiled awnings, darkened fabrics or surfaces contaminated by mould and atmospheric residues, contacting a specialised professional can help achieve a safer and more effective result.
Emilia&Pippo carries out professional deep-cleaning and surface treatment services with extensive experience in the professional cleaning sector.
Parquet flooring is one of the most popular choices in modern homes. It looks elegant, feels warm underfoot and enhances any room. However, to keep it beautiful over time, you need to know how to clean parquet flooring and how to wash a parquet floor without damaging it. For this reason, it is important to choose the right method and the right product for each finish. In fact, varnished parquet needs different care from oiled or waxed parquet. In this complete guide, you will discover which mistakes to avoid and which products to use to keep wood clean, protected and attractive for longer.
Can an oak parquet floor stained by moisture and construction residue be restored without sanding? That was the challenge faced by EASY PARKET by Francesco Ghelardi during this project in Prato, Tuscany, Italy. The floor, installed throughout the bedrooms and hallway of a private home, showed dark stains caused by moisture trapped under a nylon covering during masonry work, together with typical post-construction dirt and residue. Thanks to a technical and conservative approach, the surface was restored without sanding. This choice preserved the original micro-bevel of the parquet and brought back the natural beauty of the wood.
